Mullen-Rated Box Maker's Certificate seal is your guarantee of quality and strength.
Double-wall corrugated board construction approved by FedEx and UPS for high durability and resistance to damage.
Three Layers of Shock-Absorbing Foam
Top and bottom layers of convoluted (egg shell) foam suspend your artwork as it rests on the peaks. This suspension effect diverts the shock away from the pressure points of the frame.
A middle layer of customizable perforated “perf-pack” foam molds to the edges of your artwork for a perfect fit.
Lined Strongboxes further protect your artwork with two layers of tough ABS plastic that provide puncture resistance equivalent to 3/8" plywood but without the weight.
Integrated Handle
100 lb carrying handle integrated into many models for convenient carrying.
StrongBox Sizes
Airfloat manufactures more than 20 stock StrongBox sizes. We also manufacture custom sized strongboxes by request.
Yes. Airfloat invented the reusable, high quality alternative to wood crating that we know as the StrongBox. Because Airfloat manufactures the original reusable art shipper, and is the preferred choice of galleries and museums worldwide, many people call the StrongBox an “Airfloat.”
Lined StrongBoxes are fitted with a hard ABS plastic puncture guard liner provides puncture resistance equivalent to 3/8″ plywood but without the weight.
We recommend our lined StrongBox™ when shipping valuable pieces.
StrongBoxes are safer for your artwork, lighter weight, and less expensive to ship than wooden crates. They are also reusable, making them the preferred option for transporting framed paintings.
Each StrongBox™ is designed for damage-free shipment of a single piece of framed art.
Some customers have told us that they did successfully ship 2 framed pieces in the same StrongBox, however, we do not endorse or recommend this as the possibility of breakage increases tremendously.
In most cases, it would be considered extreme overkill to use a StrongBox for shipping unframed prints. However, unframed Canvas, or art that is not flat, may best be shipped in a StrongBox.
We recommend the Airfloat PrintPad for a more economical shipment of unframed art pieces of low thickness.

We have been using Airfloat Systems exclusively for more than twenty years for packaging both framed oil paintings, and unframed prints. We have never filed a single claim for damage in all that time.
It is fast, simple to use, very secure and makes a highly professional presentation. Additionally, our collectors appreciate the ease of opening these intelligently designed crate systems because there are no nails, screws, packaging "peanuts" or splinters with which to contend.
For two years now, [this StrongBox] has transported my pastel paintings, framed under glass, without incident. The outside of the box may look a little rough, but the inside of the box is in perfect condition.... what more could I ask for? I wouldn't ever use any other brand of box!
The [Strong]boxes really are awesome. The safety of my artwork is very important to me when shipping across the country. I have had great results which is why I continue to use them to this day.
I'm finding many national art shows are now strongly recommending the usage of Airfloat Strongboxes in their exhibition prospectus, most likely based on artist feedback.
